Was It the Stone, or the Belief?

ree

When I was younger, my mother once handed me a small, glistening stone.

“Wear this,” she said, fastening it around my neck, “it will bring you good luck.”

At the time, I didn’t question it. I didn’t know anything about stones, energies, and the likes. But what I did know was the look in her eyes—the unwavering certainty in her voice. It felt like protection, like love, like something ancient whispering through her.

And so I wore it.

And maybe that week I aced a test I didn’t study for. Maybe an unexpected opportunity showed up. Maybe I simply felt… lucky. But even now, I ask myself—

Was it the stone? Or the belief?

I’ve come to understand that belief is energy.

When we believe something is sacred, it begins to carry sacredness.

When we believe we are protected, our nervous system settles, our posture shifts, our eyes soften—and we begin to move through the world differently.

More open. More grounded. More in tune.

Maybe the stone is just a stone.

Maybe it’s a conduit.

Or maybe it’s a reminder—of trust, of intention, of unseen agreements between us and the universe.

What I know for sure is this:

Sometimes it’s not about whether the object works—it’s about how deeply we believe it can.

And in that belief, we tune our energy toward possibility.

So today, if you find yourself holding onto a lucky charm, repeating a quiet mantra, or carrying a ritual passed down to you—don’t rush to explain it.

Maybe the magic was never in the thing.

Maybe it was always in you.❤️
