This is me :-)
When I’m not on the mat, I’m outdoors! I love traveling, especially to places rich in natural beauty. Whether it’s nature walks, hiking, relaxing at the beach, or simply trying to catch the sunset or sunrise, nature has my heart. Though I’ll admit, I’m still working on my relationship with anything that crawls 😱. Baby steps, right?
Yoga has been a huge teacher for me, guiding me through growth and the power of presence. Honestly, I’m still figuring out how to be a better yogi every day. But one thing I know for sure: yoga is about embracing the journey, not perfection—and I’m all about that!
"Yoga isn’t about being perfect—it’s about embracing the journey, one breath (and maybe one awkward pose) at a time!"
Hey there!
...more about me
"Life doesn’t happen to you, it happens for you"
How I Became an Instructor
My journey with yoga has been one of personal growth, unexpected twists, and profound transformation—and I’m excited to share it.
I didn’t plan on becoming a yoga instructor. In fact, teaching yoga wasn’t even on my radar. My yoga journey started as a personal practice, a way to find balance and peace when life felt like it was moving too fast. But everything changed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the early days of the pandemic, some friends asked if I could teach them yoga. To be honest, I wasn’t comfortable with the idea at first. So, I reached out to a friend with more experience to lead us. Unfortunately, he had just started a new job and couldn’t commit. And that’s when I found myself stepping up to lead the practice. And—voila—that’s how it all began.
What started as an impromptu group session turned into something bigger. I realized how much joy I got from helping others feel better, both physically and mentally. I saw firsthand how yoga can offer calm, flexibility, and strength—not just in tough times, but in everyday life. It wasn’t long before I realized teaching yoga was something I truly loved. So, I took the plunge and earned my certification to help others in a more formal way.
And here I am today, still guided by the same passion to help people feel better, stronger, and more connected to themselves—on and off the mat, and beyond the poses.
Yoga Beyond the Poses?
Yoga is much more than physical postures—it’s a holistic path that guides us toward harmony in all aspects of life, as described in the Eight Limbs of Yoga. It begins with Yama (ethical guidelines) and Niyama (personal observances), which shape how we interact with the world and ourselves. The physical practice of Asana is just one part of this greater journey. Pranayama (breathwork) deepens our connection to the present moment, while Pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses) helps us turn inward, cultivating self-awareness. As we progress, we experience Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (meditation), and ultimately Samadhi (union or bliss), where the mind finds peace and connection with the true self. Yoga is about integrating these teachings into every aspect of life. It's about finding balance, cultivating inner peace, and embracing the fullness of who we are, on and off the mat. That’s why I named my offerings "Yoga Beyond the Poses."
I embraced meditation during a time of profound loss and transition. What began as a way to find peace quickly evolved into a practice that allowed me to reconnect with myself—especially by quieting the constant chatter of my mind, my ever-present "roommate." Meditation became my anchor, helping me navigate the challenges of daily life—raising children, working full-time, and tackling a never-ending to-do list that seemed to multiply like rabbits.
Beyond processing grief, meditation gave me the clarity and strength to keep moving forward, even on the hardest days. It created space for me to breathe, find stillness, and show up for my family with more patience, compassion, and resilience.
Yoga and meditation became essential tools for finding peace and presence in the chaos of life. They helped me step back, reset, and reconnect with myself. Over time, this practice became an integral part of how I show up in the world—bringing me a deeper sense of calm, focus, and connection.
Yoga Beyond the Poses is more than just a name—it’s a way of living, embracing both the light and the shadows of who we are. It’s about connecting deeply with ourselves and the world around us. I invite you to experience this journey with me, one breath, one movement at a time.
